SEO Strategies and Plan in 2014 – Know the Exact Action Plan
After so many changes in world of SEO, it’s very difficult to track what is still appropriate and what isn’t. SEO Strategies and Plan that SEO professional were using in year 2013 will not give the exact thing that they are looking for. SEO in 2014 almost changed because of important Google Update. The reason Why Google is coming up with its several updates like Hummingbird, Panada and Penguin because Google want to provide best search results.
After several updates and lots of changes in SEO world, few people still doing same SEO Plan and even few SEO outsourcing company also doing same. I don’t know what they want to do, they are doing SEO wrong and take lots of dollars from the Clients. SEO is not magic, you have to understand Google guidelines and work according to the terms and condition otherwise you will badly hit by Search Engine. As one should understand that On Page Optimization is blood of site so here I am sharing SEO strategies and plan that one should follow in year 2014:
1. Verify Google Authorship:-
Google Plus authorship is very important for your website. When someone types a keyword in Google Search Box and hit enter button, then it display number of website containing Google Plus Profile Photo along with number of people in his circle. Google Authorship is Google’s way of verifying authors of content and establishing a sense for how much expertise should be given to any individual author. Website Traffic and CTR will be increase if you set up Google Plus Authorship.

2. Update Blog with Good Content:-
There is huge difference between a blog and a website. A website is the collection of related web pages (web pages are documents of information) where as blog is a type of website with entries which gives news online immediately or publish any thing about the company or about any product.
I have seen couple of times and also this is hands on experiment that a frequently updated blog give you more advantage. One of friend’s website is www.cozyposyonline.com and in sub-domain, I have installed a WordPress blog. Click Here and see how the this blog works. You can write any article considering this by an example:
My website is online shopping portal and Here I have managed everything like Product details, pricing, payment gateway etc. Now when it comes to blog posting I will update some How to Type article like:-
- How to Purchase Online
- How to find best dresses
- How to ……………. so on
In this way, you can link your main site but make sure to avoid spamming and never make anchor text on keyword.
3. URL Renaming and Rewriting:-
A site’s URL structure should be as simple as possible. URL rewrite helps one to increase the visibility of their site by making url understandable in human language which are highly recommended by search engines as well.
Let’s Say an example :- This is a URL : – www.example.com/about12ourcompany0123.html
This is wrong, we should rename the URL as relevant to our title and avoid numeric digits as this reflects bad results to user.
The Correct URL is www.example.com/about-our-company.html
You can also add at least one keyword in URL because when you hit any keyword in search engine it also bring that URLs in SERP that consist keyword. I have seen URL renaming problem mostly in e-commerce site. They make URL like www.example.com/product.php?id=12, which is very bad as user point of view as well as SEO point of view.
According to Google Search Engine:
Overly complex URLs, especially those containing multiple parameters, can cause a problems for crawlers by creating unnecessarily high numbers of URLs that point to identical or similar content on your site. As a result, Googlebot may consume much more bandwidth than necessary, or may be unable to completely index all the content on your site.
4. Title and Description Tags:-
The title and description tag has consistently been one of the most important ranking factors, and remains so for 2014. If you will make Title and Description tag including main keywords than chance of getting clicked will be double. Use keyword( that you want to rank) initially and use site or company name at the end of title. See in below Pic, One of my student wants to rank a keyword “CSS3 institute” and after using same trick now his site is ranking in no 1 position. CSS3 institute is High competitive keyword with good searches in global.
Make sure to use at-least one keyword in your tittle and description as well as Your title tag should ideally be less than 65 characters.
5. Heading Tags:-
Use your keywords in your header tags (H2, H3, etc.), as well as in your H1 tag only when necessary. Each page should have only one H1 tag. Your H1 tag shows the main topic of your page, and should be the first part on your page. The h1 heading tag (main heading) of a page gives users a quick overview of the content that is to follow on the page. Search engines give much importance to user-experience on a site, meaning the presence of heading tags becomes an important component of SEO.
6. Keywords Density and Placement:-
Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. Keywords should be used throughout your content. Make sure to maintain the keyword density, I would recommend 3%. Make of use of LSI – “LSI is based on the principle that words that are used in the same contexts tend to have similar meanings.”
7. High Quality Content:-
Content is n’t a blog post or Web page that you publish on your website. It is the information you submit to search engines to be given to users. So high quality content is anything that Google decides is worth sharing.Your content should be very user-friendly, Just like Magazine or story. Make sure to write high quality content using relevant images, video, embed posts with different formatting and style.
8. Alt tag on Image:- Use Alt Tag on image where possible and required. Don’t spam like using alt tag more than 200 or 300 characters.
According to Google Image Guidelines:
The alt attribute is used to describe the contents of an image file. It’s important for several reasons:
It provides Google with useful information about the subject matter of the image. We use this information to help determine the best image to return for a user’s query.
Many people-for example, users with visual impairments, or people using screen readers or who have low-bandwidth connections—may not be able to see images on web pages. Descriptive alt text provides these users with important information.
